Shelby Espinosa, Poultry Extension Program Coordinator, receives Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Rising Star Award
On July 31st, 2024 Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service hosted the agency's Superior Service Awards recognizing faculty and staff for their exemplary service. Super Service Awards are the highest honor an AgriLife Extension employee can receive.
Shelby Espinosa, Poultry Extension Program Coordinator, was presented a Rising Star award at the ceremony. The Rising Star honor recognizes employees for outstanding work within their first three years.
Shelby has dove head first into many aspects of the Poultry Science Extension Unit and the Texas A&M Poultry Science Department over the past two years. She spearheads the distribution of poultry for both local, county, and major livestock shows, which includes managing the stockshow student interns and poultry distribution student workers. Additionally, she oversees the distribution of fertile eggs to county extension agents, teachers, and research universities nationwide. Shelby also assists with the Poultry Extension Education Program (PEEPs) organization and is an advisor to the Texas A&M Poultry Science Club.
