Poultry science faculty named among top scientists in the world
Two faculty members from the Texas A&M University Department of Poultry Science have been recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, underscoring the department’s global impact in animal and poultry research.

Gregory Archer, Ph.D., was ranked 400 out of 72,794 researchers in the field of Animal and Dairy Science on the prestigious Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientist List. This recognition places him among the most influential scholars in his discipline.
In addition, Dr. Archer was highlighted on Research.com’s Animal Science and Veterinary ranking list, where he is listed as No. 554 nationally among Texas A&M University faculty. His research contributions include 73 publications and more than 2,175 citations, reflecting both the quality and influence of his work in poultry welfare, management, and applied research.

Rosemary Walzem, Ph.D., was also named to the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientist List, ranking 1,323 out of 72,794 in Animal and Dairy Science.
Dr. Walzem’s research focuses on avian lipid metabolism, egg composition, and the role of poultry products in human health, areas where she has earned both national and international recognition.
