Poultry Science Reverse Career Fair drives students into the spotlight
The Poultry Science Reverse Career Fair held on November 16th, 2023, marked a significant and innovative approach to facilitating connections between undergraduate and graduate poultry science students to representatives from the poultry industry, allied industries, and related companies.
Instead of a traditional style career fair with companies at tables and students walking around, a reverse set-up was introduced where students stationed at tables while company representatives mingled around the room. 97 students and 13 companies were in attendance, of these over 40 students were seniors who will be graduating in December 2023, May 2024, or August 2024. Each student submitted a resume and headshot, and all company representatives received a booklet with the student profiles and resumes.
Events such as this one provides our students with the opportunity to forge valuable connections with future potential employers while securing summer internships or post-graduation employment. Historically our department boasts 100% job or professional school placement after graduation, with the average student receiving two to three offers.
