Nearly 300 guests were in attendance at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center this past April to celebrate the accolades of poultry science students.

The Annual Poultry Science Banquet recognizes students for their outstanding achievements from the past year, acknowledges industry leaders for their departmental support, and presents scholarships for the upcoming year.

A total of 97 scholarships totaling $181,500 were awarded to current and incoming students ranging in value from $500 to $5,000.

The new Emanuel '72 & Elaina Glockzin, Jr. scholarships, dedicated to transfer and out-of-state students, were announced and will be awarded for the first time in the fall. The inaugural Thomas Eugene Lester Jr. Endowed Scholarship was presented by the Lester Family in memory of Tom Lester to a deserving undergraduate student. The first recipient of the Bill '53 & Barbara Huffman Endowed Scholarship was awarded. This is the largest scholarship to be endowed in the department to a single student for a total of $4,000 each year, totaling $16,000 over four years.
